Our weight-management care begins with your health: clinical assessment, body-composition monitoring and regular follow-up. Obesity is a chronic medical condition, and care should consider your health, daily function and long-term goals. At Fitness OMC, acupuncture and Korean medicine are selected around your individual presentation.
Weight management with a clinical purpose.
Your consultation looks beyond the number on the scale. We discuss your health history, current medication, eating patterns, activity, sleep and the concerns that brought you to the clinic. Body-composition measurements and follow-up visits help us review changes over time and adjust your care plan. The purpose is to address health concerns associated with weight and support sustainable habits. This is separate from cosmetic skin care or body-contouring services. We explain the proposed treatment, its purpose and its fees before you decide how to proceed.
What can my extended health plan cover?
Eligible acupuncture visits may be covered by your extended health plan. Coverage depends on your policy, the treating practitioner and the services actually provided. A diagnosis of obesity does not automatically make every weight-management service eligible.
Allowance and limits
Check your acupuncture allowance, remaining annual balance, per-visit limits, deductibles and reimbursement percentage.
Referral and provider
Ask whether a referral is needed and which practitioner registrations your insurer accepts.
Separate services
Check whether herbal products, manual care or other services have separate benefits or exclusions.
Clear fees and accurate receipts.
Your receipt reflects the care you actually received: the treatment date, service, fee and treating practitioner. Herbal products and other services are identified separately where applicable. Ask our team whether direct billing is available for your insurer and appointment. Eligibility, insurer approval and any amount payable by you are confirmed for the individual claim.
Prepare for your first visit.
Bring your insurance card or app, policy or plan number, member identification and any required referral. Tell us which service you are considering and what your insurer needs. Our team can provide the practitioner and treatment details for your coverage enquiry.

Is a weight-management program automatically covered because obesity is a medical condition?
No. Your insurer assesses the actual service and provider under your policy. Some eligible acupuncture visits may be reimbursable, while consultation packages, herbal products or other components may have different rules or be excluded.
Can I use my acupuncture benefits?
Check your plan's acupuncture allowance, visit limits, referral requirements and eligible-provider criteria before your first appointment. We can supply details about the practitioner and planned service so you can ask your insurer directly.
Are herbal medicines included in my acupuncture allowance?
Herbal-product benefits are separate from acupuncture benefits. Check this coverage with your insurer. Products and treatment services are recorded accurately on the receipt.
Can the clinic guarantee reimbursement?
Your insurer makes the coverage decision under your policy. Our team can explain clinic fees and provide the documentation for care received.
